Brand new year, brand new website, brand new Company

Hello all!

It is with great pleasure that I unveil the new www.mattfagg.com . From 2010 I will be running under the guise of Matt Fagg Photographic. As I am working more in small teams of photographic legends and hard working assistants I thought it only fitting to give the company a more comprehensive structure, starting with the website. www.mattfagg.com was last updated over a year ago and was beginning to look stale. On Feb 5th 2010 I re-released the website. It now has more content, is even easier to navigate and looks far more beautiful than before.

Last November my team and I were lucky enough to begin working on a product catalogue with Widmann's LTD and over the last 3 months I have begun pushing my photography in a more still life and pack shot direction. This of course does not replace my portrait work, but my interest in still life has been with me for 10 years and in 2010 I thought it would be time to act on that interest.

No excuse, I know. It has been a long while sine I last wrote a post for this blog. I must admit, 2009 has been a difficult year for photography and as a new dad I have also been busy mopping up poo and trying to understand baby talk. But 2010 promises to be a blinder! Mental busy during this Xmas period has seen a movement into still life work and an upturn in wedding bookings for 2010...Oh! And I have just shot the lovely Olivia Hallinan - Star of Sugar Rush and Lark Rise to Candleford.

Hi Folks!

It's been a long time since I last made a post.

I have had the pleasure of recently shooting Corrie star, Helen Flanagan. A crazy shoot. So much was packed into the 6 hours we had with her. The front cover shot wasn't bad either.

Nancy Sorell is my new best friend. A joy to shoot and what a professional!

Welcome back to Matt Fagg's blog. It has been a few weeks since my last post. Been very, very busy indeed what with moving back to London and all.

Hello and welcome back to Matt Fagg's blog.

It's been several weeks since I've been here what with a short trip to eastern Europe. It's good to be back and well and truly in the thick of it. Watch this space for 3 minutes - Poland & Prague

The dream flat in Walthamstow fell thorugh and I am now being helped out by some true friends in Essex. Their hotel is top! All I have to do is feed the cats now and again.

I'll be back in London before you know it!

The Ting Tings are ace!

This week, apart from moving in with some friends temporarily out in the wooly wilds of Harlow, I had the pleasure of getting Sammy Winward in front of my camera at the ever large Sprint Studios. (Love that food!)

It took a few weeks of changing locations to get her, but turns out that she is every bit the professional. Team picture by James Frew, my assistant for the day.

After yet more (small) falls in the property market it may now transpire I can move my eye out of buying in the slums of Canning Town and up to the (sometimes) leafy lanes of Walthamstow. Here is a tip - Make sure, when buying a flat with a garden, the garden is actually for sale with the flat (or not). You can do this by going on to the Land Registry website.

My camera was cast upon young performing arts students this week at London Met University. Their production of the Bakkhai required some PR pictures and since they (my girlfriend) asked me so nicely I felt obliged to lend a hand.

Their final show will be ready for April 7th.

Estate agents suck

After yet more hassle trying to buy a house (I had put offers on one which had been sold while in Sweden last week) I decided it's all about auctions. Yes, I began seeing some of the most dated decor ever devised this week. But what an opportunity to by something that can be done up from scratch...not a bit of beige in site.

Just returned from a swift jaunt out to Sweden to see some old friends, their new hotel and their daughter. Buying for a 4 year old isn't easy, but pink magazines with free pens works a treat! Visit them at the Hotel Edgar in Solvesborg. A small harbour town in the south. 4/4 garage (or Bass-line House as they like to call it in the north) DJs Jamie Duggan and Shaun Banger Scott had the privilege of being captured digitally this week.

Always a pleasure never a chore!

Hello dear readers,

What an exciting week it's been. One of the best in January and possibly, ever. Apart from ploughing on with estate agents, (trying to find that elusive new nerve centre for Matt Fagg Photographic in the slums of east London)

I managed to get down with the kids by adding myself to You Tube. You'll the first of my new series, '3 Minutes', on-line. It is a simple travel log of journeys made around fascinating places all filmed on high quality mobile phone video and edited on a piece of shit. Japan is my first jaunt.

Friends, countrymen, fellow Romans,

What better way to begin the new year of our Lord 2008 than with a brand new Web-log or Blog. It may indeed be a long time coming, but keeping up with the Jones', Rankins and the Baileys is hard work. Welcome.

The year began with a bang after many Xmas chocolates - Laura Michelle Kelly, London's latest diva was to be the first behind my lens in 2008. Nothing like shooting on location at Tower Bridge, in 5 degree weather and high winds. Bring it!
